8th Pay Commission’s Chennai schedule for discussions
In a statement dated July 24, 2026, the 8th Pay Commission said that it would visit Chennai on September 7 and 8 for discussions with stakeholders.
“Concerned stakeholders including organisations/institutions of central government as well as associations/unions who are desirous of interacting with the commission in Chennai may kindly submit their request seeking an appointment with the commission vide https://nicforms.nic.in/enRhYmxlNmE2MWUyMmIzNTMxOTIwMjYwNzIzMTMz for Chennai on or before August 18, 2026, along with a ‘unique Memo ID’ that has been generated after submitting memorandum,” says the 8th Pay Commission in its notice.
The 8th Pay Commission said that Chennai venue details and the meeting schedule would be intimated separately.
8th Pay Commission to hold meetings in other states/UTs too
The 8th CPC also said that it would hold separate meetings in cities in other states/union territories in due course.
“Accordingly, stakeholders belonging to states/union territories other than Tamil Nadu are requested not to seek appointments during this visit of the Commission,” says the 8th Pay Commission in its notice.
8th Pay Commission Puducherry meeting schedule
The 8th Pay Commission also said in a separate notice dated July 24 that it would be visiting Puducherry on September 9, 2026.
Puducherry meeting appointments available till August 18
The 8th CPC said that the concerned stakeholders including organisations/institutions desirous of interacting with it at Puducherry can submit their request seeking an appointment vide https://nicforms.nic.in/enRhYmxlNmE2MWUyZjk4YjU4NzIwMjYwNzIzMTM0 on or
before August 18, 2026, along with a ‘unique Memo ID’ generated upon the submission of the memorandum on the Commission’s website.
“Venue details and meeting schedule shall be intimated separately,” the Commission said in its notice.
Delhi meetings in August
In a statement issued on July 23, 2026, the 8th Pay Commission also said that it would hold its next round of interactions in New Delhi in August.
According to a notice by the 8th CPC, interactions would be held with associations, federations and unions of central government and UT employees located or registered in Delhi on August 7 and 10, 2026.
The update about the Delhi meeting came after the commission took a pause of about two weeks after completing its Kolkata meetings on July 9 and 10.
In these meetings, the pay commission takes employee, pensioner body and other stakeholders’ suggestions on pay, pension, fitment factor, promotions, work conditions and many other employee issues.
The 8th Pay Commission is in the process to submit its report of recommendations. In November 2025, the government gave it an 18-month deadline to submits its report. The pay commission has already had discussions with stakeholders in cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Leh, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata.
From August onwards, it is starting its second round of such discussions.
