8th Pay Commission announces Bengaluru meeting schedule: Check dates, deadline to apply and how to take appointment

The 8th Pay Commission has announced that it would visit Bengaluru on October 7-8, 2026, to have discussions with employee, pensioner bodies and other stakeholders.

Issues that will be discussed in the meeting will be related to pay, pension, allowances, work conditions, among others.

The Bengaluru meetings are in a series of similar discussions that the 8th Pay Commission is set to hold with stakeholders in cities such as Jaipur, Chandigarh, Chennai and Puducherry in August-September 2026.

The 8th CPC also said in the statement that it would hold separate meetings in cities in other states/union territories in due course.

In a statement dated August 3, 2026, the 8th Pay Commission said that it would visit Jaipur on August 31, 2026 (Monday) and September 1, 2026 (Tuesday) for discussions with stakeholders.

The 8th Pay Commission said that it would visit Chandigarh on September 16 to 18 for discussions with stakeholders. The commission announced the Chandigarh schedule in a statement dated July 28, 2026.

What does the 8th Pay Commission discuss in meetings with stakeholders?

In these meetings, the pay commission takes employee and pensioner bodies and other stakeholders’ suggestions on pay, pension, fitment factor, promotions, work conditions and many other employee issues.

The 8th Pay Commission is in the process to submit its report of recommendations. In November 2025, the government gave it an 18-month deadline to submit its report. The pay commission has already had discussions with stakeholders in cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Leh, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata.

What will guide the 8th Pay Commission's recommendations?

The 8th CPC will make recommendations, keeping in view:

(i) Economic conditions in the country and the need for fiscal prudence;

(ii) The need to ensure that adequate resources are available for developmental expenditure and welfare measures;

(iii) The unfunded cost of non-contributory pension schemes;

(iv) The likely impact of the recommendations on the finances of state governments which usually adopt the recommendations with some modifications; and

(v) The prevailing emolument structure, benefits and working conditions available to employees of Central Public Sector Undertakings and private sector
