Total wealth of top 100 Indian realtors Rs 236,610 crore, up 27% on year: Report

Top 3 cities- Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru--are home to 78% of the top 100 rich listers.
Total wealth of top 100 real estate barons in India rose 27% from a year ago to Rs Rs 236,610 crore or $32.7 billion in 2018, showed a report. In 2017, the cumulative wealth of stood at Rs 186,700 crore or $ 28.6 billion.

Lodha Group’s Mangal Prabhat Lodha ranked at top spot with total wealth of Rs 27,150 crore, according to Hurun India Real Estate Rich List 2018. Jitendra Virwani of Embassy secured second spot with total wealth of Rs 23,160 crore followed by Rajiv Singh of DLF with total wealth of Rs 17,690 crore.

According to the report, DLF’s Renuka Talwar featured as the richest woman in Indian real estate sector, while 8 more women featured in the list.


RMZ’s Kunal Menda (24 years) of RMZ is the youngest to feature on the list while, Prithvi Raj Singh Oberoi (89 years) of East India Hotels is the eldest.

Top 3 cities--Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru--are home to 78% of the top 100 rich listers. Around 59% of the names featured on the list are first-generation entrepreneurs. Average age of the individuals in the list is 59 while average wealth is Rs 2,366 crore.

The list was compiled on the basis of net worth of living Indians as on 30th September, 2018 when the rate of exchange to the US Dollar stood at Rs 72.46.
