MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) on Tuesday disposed of a case filed by a homebuyer seeking refund of a booking amount from Lodha Developers.

Roshan Nawale had paid Rs 1.08 lakh to book an apartment in Lodha's Ultima project in Thane. But, later, he cancelled the booking and sought a refund.

The homebuyer approached MahaRERA saying the booking amount had not been refunded.

MahaRERA's order on Tuesday said that Lodha Developers has returned the amount.

According to the Lodha Group, the matter was resolved amicably recently.

The authority disposed of the complaint following the settlement.

This is second such intervention by the regulator to protect homebuyers. Last week, it had asked another developer to refund the booking amount to a homebuyer for non-delivery of the apartment on time.

In June, MahaRERA had fined property broker Sai Estate Consultants Chembur Pvt Ltd for advertising multiple unregistered residential projects.
