MUMBAI: Will writing may not be a cumbersome job anymore. SBICAP Trustee Company, an offshoot of India’s largest lender State Bank of India, has launched a system which makes life easy for parents patenting their wealth in the name of wards at a bare minimum cost.

You have to follow a few simple steps and fill up the requisite details to create such wills for your daughter or son. The product is christened as “My Will Services Online”.

“There is only one-time service charge of Rs 2,500 (excluding taxes),” said Arundhati Bhattacharya Chairman State Bank of India. “We will promote it across the country including smaller cities and towns.”

“This will gain currency gradually but not overnight. It will be popular among young customers.”

“Our ambition is, we should enable you to do banking from home.”

For will, a customer can modify details within 30 days and then, the bank will send copy of the final will, duly registered. The entire documentation is automated.

But, any modification after one month will attract fresh fees.

“In case of inter-religion marriages too we facilitate the will creation without any hefty fees normally charged by lawyers,” said V Muralidharan, chief executive officer, SBI Cap Trustee Company.
