With no DDA plot after 30 years, applicant seeks contempt action
Rahul Gupta, awaiting allotment of for the last 30 years, in his PIL had alleged that DDA has failed to allot 4000 acres of land to applicants.
Rahul Gupta, who had applied for a plot in 1981 under a housing scheme at Rohini in North West Delhi, filed the contempt petition through counsel Mayank Mishra alleging that Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had assured the high court in December 2009 that it would allot 16,000 plots to eligible candidates out of 25,000 applicants in 20 months.
Accepting DDA's written undertaking, the court had granted time till August 29, 2011 but not a single plot was alloted to the applicants by DDA, said Gupta in his petition.
Justice Vipin Sanghi, before whom the contempt plea was listed for hearing, today transferred the matter to a division bench which would take it up for hearing tomorrow.
Gupta in his PIL had alleged that DDA has failed to allot 4000 acres of land to applicants despite lapse of several years and it now planned to divert the land for developmental projects other than the residential projects.
