Unitech appoints two additional non-executive independent directors

NEW DELHI : Real estate firm Unitech today appointed Sunil Rekhi and Chanderkant Jain as additional non-executive independent directors on the company's board.

"The Board of Directors of the company through resolution by circulation dated May 23, 2015 has appointed Sunil Rekhi and Chanderkant Jain as additional non-executive independent directors on the board of the company with effect from May 23, 2015," Unitech said in a BSE filing.

Rekhi is a Chartered Accountant while Jain is an industrial engineer having wide experience in real estate, it added.

The Gurgaon-based company also said that two non-executive independent directors - Anil Harish and Ravinder Singhania - have resigned.

"The company has received a letter dated May 18, 2015 from Anil Harish, a non-executive Independent Director of the company tendering his resignation from the office of Director of the company.

"The company has taken into effect the said resignation letter with effect from May 23, 2015, the date of receipt of said letter by the company," Unitech said.

The company said that Ravinder Singhania, a non-executive independent director, has also tendered his resignation with immediate effect.

The filing did not mention the reason for resignations of the two non-executive independent directors from the company.

Unitech is into development of residential, office, retail, SEZ and hotel projects.
