Tata Housing ties up with NSC to create awareness about safety
Awareness will be created through training modules and educational tools at construction sites all over the country.
As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two organisations will exchange technical expertise and engage in collaborative work to make environment, health and safety (EHS) a norm for the real estate industry, an official statement said.
Noting that construction is considered as one of the most risky industries when it comes to occupational safety, NSC Director General V B Sant said a recent research suggests the average Fatal Accident Frequency Rate in Indian construction sector is 15.8 for 1,000 employees as against 0.23 in the USA.
Through the MoU, two organisations aim to ensure that compliance of health, safety, security and environment regulations is on a sustained basis and not a one-time practice, he said.
Awareness will be created through training modules and educational tools at construction sites all over the country.
Tata Housing CEO and Managing Director Brotin Banerjee said the company is partnering with NSC to institutionalise occupational health standards, which will help to inculcate a safety culture within the real estate sector.
