Private sector insurer Tata AIG has launched a new travel insurance package for the passengers of domestic private sector carrier Spicejet.
NEW DELHI: Private sector insurer Tata AIG has launched a new travel insurance package for the passengers of domestic private sector carrier Spicejet.
The new package, Domestic Travinsure, apart from accident and death cover, covers losses due to inconveniences faced by the consumers, Tata AIG said in a release on Thursday.
TATA AIG is the first private sector insurance company to offer this package, the release said.
"Our extensive research has shown that the Indian aviation industry is facing several challenges like flight delays, loss of baggage and trip curtailment.
"Domestic Travinsure with its innovative features and low pricing addresses the needs of a wide cross-section of the traveller's segment," TATA AIG Managing Director, Micheal Carlin said.
Tata AIG is a joint venture between the Tata Group and American International Group, Inc (AIG). The Tata Group holds 74 per cent stake in Tata AIG, while AIG holds the balance 26 per cent.
