KOLKATA: Kolkata-headquartered Sinclairs Hotels is planning to add more properties in West Bengal, beginning with a new business hotel in Kolkata.

“We have already acquired around one acre land in New Town Kolkata. Plans for a 114 room property have already been sanctioned. The hotel will have extensive banqueting facilities and two restaurants, bar, etc,” said Navin Suchanti, managing director at Sinclairs Hotels.

The hotel company clocked a net profit of Rs 3.11 crore lakhs for the first quarter of FY 2015-2016 against Rs 2.68 crore in the same period last year.

The chain already has hotels in Siliguri, Chalsa (Dooars), Darjeeling and Kalimpong in north Bengal and at Ooty, while their new property in Burdwan, the first in south Bengal will be operational in the first quarter of fiscal year 2016.

“The tourist resort with banqueting and club facilities at Burdwan would be the seventh property of the company and give a further boost to the company’s overall performance this year,” said Suchanti.

The brand however is not restricting its expansion to hospitality only. Sinclairs is also is talks with builders for developing residential condominiums along with organized retail spaces as part of their mixed use property at Siliguri.
