MUMBAI: The city's draft development plan may unlock a Rs 20,000-crore goldmine for the beleaguered Sahara Group and its chief Subrata Roy, who has been in jail for over a year for want of Rs 10,000-crore bail.

A 500-acre plot in Goregaon (west), earlier declared as a no-development zone because of ecological concerns, has now been marked for residential and commercial purposes under the new plan. Sahara Group owns 106 acres of this sprawl. Property experts said that the development potential of this plot could soar to over Rs 20,000 crore.
