RIL denies CAG charges, says cleared all dues to MMRDA
MUMBAI: Reliance Industries on Friday denied CAG report that blamed Maharashtra government for not recovering lease rentals from it for its upcoming BKC project, saying the company has paid all its dues to MMRDA.

"There are no dues pending to Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) towards the said BKC property," a Reliance spokesman told PTI in a late night statement.

Other companies in the report, Jet and BCCL, could not be contacted.

Earlier in the day, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in its report has pulled up the state government and its two civic agencies for not taking adequate steps to recover lease the dues from big corporate houses like Reliance Industries and Jet Airways.

RIL and Jet Airways were allotted land in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area in 2007, the new CBD area of the megapolis in the suburbs by MMRDA but they failed to complete construction work in prescribed time mentioned in the lease agreement, the CAG report said.
