PFRDA scouting for tax consultant for 2016-17
NEW DELHI: Pension fund regulator PFRDA is scouting for a tax consultant for the fiscal 2016-17 to advise it on all the taxation related issues.

The consultant would be advising PFRDA on issues related to "tax deducted at source, service tax, GST (when enacted), any other tax related issues, including queries on tax matters...," said the Request For Proposal (RFP) document floated by the regulator said.

The selected consultant, it further said, will also update PFRDA about various amendments taking place in tax laws and rules, regulations, circulars, directions, Finance Acts from time to time.

As per the RFP, the consultant will be primarily responsible for preparing, checking, scrutinising, filing IT/TDS returns, issuance of TDS certificates, advising and updating PFRDA on compliance requirements under applicable direct and indirect tax laws.

Meanwhile, the PFRDA has appointed Karvy Computershare Pvt Ltd as second Central Recordkeeping Agency ( CRA) for NPS.

NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd is the another CRA for National Pension System (NPS).

PFRDA was established to promote old age income security by establishing, developing and regulating funds, to protect the interests of subscribers to schemes of pension funds and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto, through NPS.
