Now, you can pay stamp duty online in Uttar Pradesh
To ease the process of property registration, Uttar Pradesh government announced e-payment of stamp duty in the state.

"Now people can pay the stamp duty, registration fee or any other charges online. The payment will be directly transferred to the state exchequer. This will make the payment system easy and transparent," said Rajesh Kumar Yadav, ADM (revenue & finance), Gautam Budh Nagar.
The users may first visit the district registration department where they will get a slip for payment of stamp duties. "People can then log in to the UP stamp and registration department website -- http://igrsup.gov.in/. Then they can make the online payment get receive receipt. The receipt shall be submitted in the registration department," Yadav said
The sub-registrar will then verify the payment and complete the registration process. Yadav said that the new e-payment system will reduce the time for registration. "People will not have to wait for hours in the queue for payment of stamp duty. This will also bring transparency in the system," he said.
As per the notification, the online system also allows users to return their payment if they want. In this case, people can forward the application to the office of the concerned sub-registrar. The sub registrar, after verification of details of the e-payment, shall forward it to the assistant commissioner (stamp) of the district. The assistant commissioner (stamp) shall complete the procedure of disposal of such application under the provisions of the Indian Stamp Act 1899.
