Farmers in Noida Extension today held a protest and stopped construction work at private builders site, demanding enhanced compensation for acquired land.

NOIDA: Farmers in Noida Extension today held a protest and stopped construction work at private builders site, demanding enhanced compensation for acquired land and other rehabilitation benefits.

Hundreds of farmers marched to private builders site and made the construction workers stop work.

Police had made elaborate security arrangements to prevent any violence.

The farmers are demanding enhanced compensation, 10 per cent developed land, resolution of abadi (arable) land and other rehabilitation benefits.

"Till our demands are resolved we will not allow construction works even though NCRPB ( National Capital Region Planning Board) has given approval to Greater Noida Master Plan 2021," said farmers' leader Inder Nagar said.
