More than 170 SC families to get houses under HUDCO scheme

The Corporation for Development of Adi Dravidar Welfare has drawn up a Rs 11.25 crore HUDCO assisted housing scheme to benefit more than 170 Scheduled Caste families in Karaikal.

PUDUCHERRY: The Corporation for Development of Adi Dravidar Welfare has drawn up a Rs 11.25 crore HUDCO assisted housing scheme to benefit more than 170 Scheduled Caste families in Karaikal.

Welfare Minister P Rajavelu who visited Karaikal, an enclave of the union territory today for reviewing the chemes said in a release that the Corporation had obtained the Rs 11.25 crore financial aid from Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO). As many as 171 houses are being constructed in Varichakudi village in Karaikal.

He said government would spare no efforts to meet the basic amenities of the downtrodden and urged officials to ensure that hostel facilities for SC students are immediately met.
