Limra Loma Global launches India ops, to focus on insurance sector

Limra Loma Global on Thursday formally launched its operations in India, Limra Loma India, in association with Infinium.

MUMBAI: Limra Loma Global, the world's largest and oldest member-owned trade association for insurance and financial services companies, on Thursday formally launched its operations in India, Limra Loma India, in association with Infinium.

Infinium is a special purpose vehicle which has partnered with Limra Loma Global to cater to the insurance sector in India by providing products and services of both Limra and Loma.

"This signals the start of a focused effort of Limra and Loma in the development of the insurance market in India," Limra Loma Global Managing Director (South Asia), Khor Han Heng, told reporters here today.

Limra and Loma has been present in India since the last seven to eight years. While Limra has 10 life insurance companies as its members in India, Loma has about 40 members mainly from the IT and ITeS industry.

Limra Loma India will also cater to the Sri Lankan insurance market, Heng said.
