Last date to file ITR: #IncomeTaxReturn trends as users report e-filing portal glitches; will govt extend the deadline?

The last date to file, submit and verify your income tax return (ITR) is today, July 31, 2024. It's important to note that penalties may apply if your income tax return is filed after ITR filing deadline of July 31. Many taxpayers are currently experiencing disruptions in the operations of the income tax portal as the deadline approaches.

What is the penalty for filing ITR after the deadline of July 31, 2024?

Over 6.5 crore ITRs have been filed till 30 July 2024. According to the Income tax website, “Over 6.5 crore ITRs have been filed till 30 July 2024, marking an increase of over 7.5% more compared to the same period last year. The number of ITRs filed per day has exceeded over 45 lakhs on 30 July and is expected to rise exponentially on 31st July which is the due date for many taxpayers. The 6.5 crore milestone, which has been reached on 30 July this year, was achieved on 31 July last year.”

Seriously viksit bharat ke income tax portal ki ye haalat

Now the portal is not even loading

Since yesterday I am getting stuck at this place again and again... friends say it is site overload but what overload @2AM in the night... please tell the solution... I have to opt out of the new regime or enable us to revise post 31st Jul.

The Incom Tax website is down. I am unable to file ITR.

The Dropdown menu is not working. It is not showing any option for selection. Please help.

Last 15 min , I try to login several time but not able to select any menu and showing only "Loading"

Trying to pay ITR online since last 2 days but website keeps crashing. Even now at 9:30 it is stuck at this stage. Please assist immediately. Tried calling helpline as well but it is constantly unavailable.
