Kolkata's well-known Akar Prakar Gallery, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, is crowning the 150th birth anniversary of Literature Laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

KOLKATA: Kolkata's well-known Akar Prakar Gallery, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, is crowning the 150th birth anniversary of Literature Laureate Rabindranath Tagore with a group show, titled 'Enduring Legacy', by young artists. Together with Akar Prakar and ICCR, the exhibit partners include Indien Institut, Munich, the Neumeister Gallery in Munich and the Indian Embassy in Berlin.

In fact, before the show in Kolkata, the exhibition has travelled to Munich and Berlin.

""The pieces on display reflect Rabindranath Tagore's continuing presence among the younger generation of artists. The artists view Tagore from various angles and perspectives. There's an installation, for instance, which shows the manner in which consumerism has grown around Tagore. It's a fascinating mix of concepts and mediums,"" says Reena Lath, Akar Prakar's founder-director.

The show fields 13 artists who have churned 26 works. It opens at ICCR's Rabindranath Tagore Centre on February 19 and will continue till March 5.
