The United India Insurance Company gave a cheque of Rs 1 crore to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for flood-hit people of Jammu and Kashmir.

SRINAGAR: The United India Insurance Company today gave a cheque of Rs 1 crore to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for flood-hit people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Omar, while thanking the company, expressed hope that more and more corporate companies and well-off people will donate to the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister's flood relief fund for rehabilitation of flood survivors, an official spokesman said.

Earlier, the Chief Minister monitored the measures under implementation for restoration of public services and relief and rehabilitation of flood-hit people at a meeting here this morning.

Omar is holding the monitoring meetings daily to oversee the functioning of the different departments.
