Insurance cos to seek changes in MV Act

General insurance cos, led by New India Assurance and ICICI Lombard, will lobby with Chidambaram to free up third-party motor insurance premium and cap claims on such policies.

MUMBAI: General insurance companies, led by New India Assurance and ICICI Lombard, will lobby with finance minister P Chidambaram to free up third-party motor insurance premium and cap claims on such policies in a meeting scheduled on October 22.

CEOs of 25 non-life insurance companies will take part in the meeting, which will also be attended by M Ramprasad, Irda member (non-life), and secretary general of General Insurance Council.
