ICICI Lombard launches 'road side assistance cover'

MUMBAI: Private sector general insurer ICICI Lombard General Insurance today launched 'road side assistance cover' for its private car insurance policy holders.

As per the company, the add on cover will provide complete assistance in case of an emergency like vehicle breakdown or accident.

Premium for the new cover will start from Rs 99, it added. "With the new cover, we are offering this product to our customers during their hour of need. This will ensure that our customers derive the maximum benefit out of their motor insurance policy," ICICI Lombard Chief (underwriting and claims) Sanjay Datta said.

In this cover, the insurance company will arrange for accommodation in the event of vehicle of the insured being immobilised due to breakdown or accident. It will arrange for alternate transport, arrangement of fuel, and assistance to reach nearest garage among others.
