I-T Dept introduces centralised mail receipt for corporates
To provide better service to taxpayers, the Income Tax Department, Mumbai has introduced centralised mail receipt counter on a pilot basis for the corporate sector assessees from October 15.

MUMBAI: To provide better service to taxpayers, the Income Tax Department, Mumbai has introduced centralised mail receipt counter on a pilot basis for the corporate sector assessees from October 15.
"The Income Tax Department, Mumbai has introduced centralised 'dak' receipt counter in 'Sevottam Scheme'. The Scheme is being introduced as per the initiative of the Government of India under the project of 'Capacity Building for Good Governance'," I-T Department, Mumbai said.
"This Scheme is being implemented on a pilot basis for the charges of Commissioners of Income Tax 1 and 2, Mumbai, w.e.f. 15th October," I-T Department said.
Charges of Commissioners of Income Tax 1 and 2 caters to the corporate sector but the I-T Department would in future like to extend this facility to all the assessees in the Mumbai region.
"Under this Scheme general correspondence addressed to all officers in these charges, except returns of income, submissions in response to scrutiny notices, summons and penalty notices, applications under the RTI Act etc. will be accepted at the centralised Sevottam counter in the Aayakar Bhavan, Mumbai."
