How to update your KYC details

Before investing in securities, investors have to complete KYC formalities. KYC involves submission of requisite form with photographs, address proof, identity proof and PAN. It is important to keep KYC info updated. If there is any change, these must be updated at the KRA end by completing formalities.

Whom to approach?
The investor wanting to change his KYC information can approach a point of service (POS) of the KRA, R&T office or the AMC office in order to get the details changed.


Form
The investor must fi ll up the KYC details change form. The form can be downloaded from the KRA or the AMC website. Alternatively, physical form can be procured from the POS of the KRA or the AMC office.

Information
On the form, the section relevant to the change must be fi lled up, such as new identity details in case of change of name/PAN/residential status/marital status/nationality; or contact details such change of correspondence address/ phone numbers or email id.

Documents
Copies of approved proofs must be self attested and submitted along with form. Proofs must be copies of valid and latest documents. List of acceptable documents is given in the instructions page of the form.

In person verification
The form and proofs are verifi ed by a person authorised to carry out in-person verifi cation against originals or attested copies. IPV details are entered on the form and sent for processing.

Points to note
1. This form is applicable only for individual investors.
2. In case of NRI or foreign nationals, passport is a mandatory document proof to be submitted for change of residential status.
3. Proofs should always be sent in A4 size paper.
