HDFC expects 22-25 per cent loan growth in FY 10

MUMBAI: Leading home loans lender, HDFC, expects a 22-25 per cent growth in its loan disbursals this fiscal, a senior company official said.

"We expect a loan disbursal growth of 22-25 per cent this fiscal," HDFC's Joint Managing Director, Renu Sud Karnad, told reporters here today.

In the first-half of this fiscal (H1 FY 10), HDFC has clocked a 26 per cent growth in its loan disbursals, Karnad said.

The HDFC official said that she expected interest rates to increase by 0.25-0.50 per cent by the middle of next year.

On housing demand, Karnad said that "the numbers we are getting from across the country are looking up. Growth and demand is here to stay because the housing shortage in India is huge."
