Haryana housing societies cannot charge more than Rs 10,000 as transfer fee

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government has notified the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Societies (Amendment) Rules, 2018, under which housing societies cannot charge more than Rs 10,000 as transfer fee in case of change of ownership of an apartment.

According to the notification issued last week, the Society will also fix maintenance charges.

These charges will be fixed on the basis of the size of apartment for maintenance of common area and facilities. Existing societies will also modify by-laws accordingly and get the modified by-laws approved from the District Registrar, an official release said.
