ET Wealth Expo 2026: Day 2 to Explore Alternative Investments, Financial Freedom and the Changing Face of Wealth

As India's wealth landscape evolves, affluent investors are looking beyond traditional investment avenues to diversify their portfolios, build alternative income streams and align their finances with their long-term goals. The focus is increasingly shifting from accumulating wealth to making it work across different stages of life. Against this backdrop, Day 2 of ET Wealth Expo 2026, scheduled for October 31 at NESCO, Mumbai, will follow the theme Multiply, Freedom, Life, bringing together investment leaders, wealth managers, real estate experts, legal professionals and financial influencers to examine emerging opportunities and the decisions that shape financial independence.

The theme of Multiply will begin with a keynote address by Saurabh Mukherjea, Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Marcellus Investment Managers, titled Beyond Equities: The New Indian Portfolio. The session will explore how affluent investors can look beyond listed equities to diversify their investments through real estate investment trusts (REITs), infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs), private markets and alternative assets. The presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session, will examine the changing investment choices available to investors seeking to build more diversified portfolios.

Real estate will be another key area of focus. Featuring Vishal Dhawan, Founder and CEO of Plan Ahead Wealth Advisors; Ajay Sharma, Managing Director of Valuation and Advisory Services at Colliers India; and Vivek Rathi, National Director – Research at Knight Frank India, the session will explore real estate's role in portfolio diversification and the considerations investors should weigh when evaluating property as a long-term investment.

The session will examine how credit cards can be used as tools for lifestyle optimisation and financial value, while bringing attention to the role of informed spending decisions in personal finance.

Following this, the focus will shift to legal preparedness and financial protection. The panel, Being on the Right Side of Law: Levelling Up with the Law, will address legal issues that can have significant financial implications for individuals and families. The discussion will cover homebuyers' rights in cases of possession delays, whether a home loan guarantees clear property title, selling property involving multiple stakeholders, succession disputes, and the division of assets during divorce.
