EPFO to hold Bhavishya Nidhi Adalats
Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will hold Bhavishya Nidhi Adalats every month to settle subscribers complaints on the spot, the Lok Sabha was informed on Monday.
"There are no complaints received on account of inadequate manpower in the EPFO. Presently, the EPFO is equipped with full-fledged facilitation centre, public relation officers and supporting staff to handle customer complaints particularly with regard to recoveries and pension funds," Minister for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes said in a reply.
"All field officers have been directed to conduct Bhavishya Nidhi Adalats to deal with any kind of problems," he said.
In reply to a separate question, the Minister said, "Government is not considering any proposal of Bharat Nirman Rashtriya Rozgar Yojna. However National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (NREGA) is being implemented in 330 districts and is to cover all the rural districts of the country with effect from April 2008," Fernandes said.
Replying to the proposal of turning ESI hospitals to Model hospitals he said, "the ESI corporation met in 2001 and decided to turn the ESI hospitals into model hospitals. Currently, 18 hospitals are being run as model hospitals by the ESI corporation."
