EPF portal glitch: EPF members finding it difficult to e-file nomination; many take to Twitter to complain

The retirement fund organisation, Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) clarified early in January 2022 that there is no deadline to file nomination in one’s EPF account. However, for the past few days those who have been trying to adding nominations or update nomination details in their EPF accounts are not able to do so due to glitches in the EPF portal.
Many EPF members took to Twitter to vent their grievances. Some said they haven’t been able to access the portal itself while other have said that they have not been able to add nominations.

In fact, the EPFO portal was down due to scheduled maintenance for two days last week. “EPFO’s website having URL www.epfindia.gov.in will be under maintenance from 22-01-2022, 00:00 Hrs. to 24-01-2022, 06:00 Hrs. However, employer’s & employees’ services will be working through unified portal. Inconvenience caused is regretted,” a ticker on the EPF website stated on January 20, 2022.
