Delhi govt starts Swasthya Bima Yojna cards for poor
Delhi Government launched Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna cards for the poor to help them avail free quality medical treatment.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Government on Saturday launched Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna cards for the poor to help them avail free quality medical treatment in designated private hospitals and nursing homes in the national capital.
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit formally distributed the cards to the poor. Under the scheme, they will be able to get cashless treatment upto Rs 30,000 for a family of five persons on premium of just Rs 30 per annum.
"All ration cardholders under Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Antotadaya Yojna scheme will be entitled to get smart card. A toll-free helpline to facilitate instant medical treatment is also being launched for the needy," Dikshit said.
"This treatment is in addition to facilities being provided in the government hospitals. The beneficiaries are also being provided with a list of designated hospitals and nursing homes," the chief minister added.
Apart from this, the beneficiaries would be entitled for a transport allowance upto Rs 100 for commuting up to hospitals from their residence with a maximum limit of Rs 1000 per annum.
A toll-free helpline has been operationalised with number 1800-11-3300 to facilitate treatment in private designated hospitals and nursing homes.
