Competition Commission of India rejects complaint against DLF Universal
NEW DELHI: The Competition Commission of India has rejected allegations that realty major DLF indulged in unfair business practices with regard to a commercial project.

The matter relates to booking of a commercial shop by the complainant at DLF Universal's project Prime Tower in Okhla, New Delhi.

Rejecting the allegations, the Competition Commission of India said that DLF Universal does not appear to be dominant in the relevant market and hence "the question of abuse of dominance by it does not arise".

For this case, CCI considered 'the market for provision of services for development and sale of commercial/space' as the relevant one.

The complainant had alleged that the company due to its dominant position imposed unilateral method of payment plan and charged interest as per "its own convenience and suitability".

In its order, dated January 29, CCI said there are many real estate developers that offer commercial and office spaces in the relevant market.
