The sale is led by a group of Nolan drawings from the 1950s through to the 1960s, which include classic subjects such as his drought studies, depictions of the iconic bushranger Ned Kelly (Seven studies including Ned Kelly and Greek Warrior fragments (estimate: £3,000-5,000), and landscapes (Central Australian Landscape (Uluru) (estimate: £4,000-6,000 and Trees (estimate: £4,000 - 6,000)). A selection of Blackman drawings provide a remarkable insight into the artist's friendship with writer and poet Al Alvarez in London (estimates range from £1,000 up to £7,000).
Further highlights from the sale include a large offering of printed works, including Dust, a suite of 24 etchings by Sidney Nolan (estimate: £2,500-3,500,); and by Arthur Boyd, Narcissus, a series of 25 etchings (estimate: £6,000-8,000), and Bundanon Quartet a set of four lithographs (estimate: £1,500-2,500).
