Budget 2012: Provide incentives for development of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, says DTZ

The central government should consider providing incentive packages for commercial development of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

However, with the withdrawal of STPI benefits and IT/ITeS SEZs largely concentrated across Tier 1 cities, the country lacks any key incentive policy for growth of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

Suggestion:

The central government should consider providing incentive packages for commercial development of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
