BMC invites observations on designation survey for Development Plan 2034
MUMBAI: BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has invited observations from residents of the city on the designation survey detailing various reservations and zoning undertaken for Development Plan 2034. These suggestion and objections are expected to be sent to the civic body by November 30.

The civic body of the country's commercial capital has received an extension of the deadline for revision of the much-talked about Development Plan 2034 for the second time by another six months to February next.

The Development Plan 2034 was first announced in February only to be withdrawn in April after being criticized for errors with regard to wrong reservations applied to certain zones and plots.

BMC also referred as Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) is trying to ensure that this time all the reservations and zone designations are done in an error-free manner.

Earlier this year, the government had also acknowledged major errors in the plan and had asked the civic body to revise it. The first extension was allowed in April and the revised plan was expected to be put up for citizens' suggestion/objection in September. In the backdrop of the second extension, this process is now estimated to take more than a year.
