Bajaj Allianz Life eyes Rs 500 cr from health insurance

Private insurer Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance is eyeing a premium income of Rs 500 crore from health insurance products during the current financial year.

KOLKATA: Private insurer Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance is eyeing a premium income of Rs 500 crore from health insurance products during the current financial year.
Head (Health Insurance) of Bajaj Allianz Life Ujjaini Dasgupta said today health insurance was an important vertical for the company.
Launching the company's first mediclaim policy 'Care First' here, Dasgupta said Bajaj Allianz was targeting 20 to 30 per cent of premium income from health insurance products.
Chief executive officer of Bajaj Allianz Life Sam Ghosh said the company was working out three other verticals on health insurance like pension-linked products for women and for the rural market.
With a capital base of Rs 700 crore, the company would infuse another Rs 250 crore in the current financial year.
Bajaj Allianz Life is targeting a 100 per cent growth in premium income. Last year, the premium income was Rs 4,300 crore.
