Asta Guru's 9th auction consists of 60 lots by Indian modern artist
Asta Guru, an auction house set up in 2008 by the chairman of SAFSET Group Vickram Sethi is now holding its 9th auction on Tuesday 14th May and Wednesday 15th May.
A few works date all the way back to the 1940s at the time when India won independence. Some works are from the 1950s and 1960s when the Indian art movement was creating an impact on their own thinking style and moving away from the traditional subjects which were commonly seen during the British Raj.
There are not only major works but also similar works which can be acquired by upcoming collectors in order to kickstart their collection .The two most expensive paintings are by M.F. Husain and S.H. Raza.
The Indian art market has seen an upswing in the masters over the last few months and there is a lot of interest from collectors living in India and many others living abroad to participate and bid in this upcoming auction.
The auction starts on 14th May at 11am and will be concluded on the 15th May at 7.30pm.
