Andhra Bank plans non-life insurance foray

Andhra Bank is planning a foray into the non-life insurance sector, its Chairman and Managing Director K Ramakrishnan said on Tuesday.


MUMBAI: Andhra Bank is planning a foray into the non-life insurance sector, its Chairman and Managing Director K Ramakrishnan said on Tuesday.

The bank's life insurance joint venture would be operational in six months, he told reporters on the sidelines of a banking conference.

The bank had, last week, signed an agreement with British insurer Legal and General and Bank of Baroda to form a life insurance venture.
