The deadline to submit income tax returns for the financial year 2023-24 is approaching, with July 31, 2024, just a few days away. According to the Income Tax Department, more than 5 crore ITRs had been filed by July 26, 2024, indicating a rise of over 8.5% compared to last year. Nevertheless, numerous taxpayers are encountering technical issues.

Many tax filers took to social media X to voice their complaints about the official handling of the income tax department. The department has responded to many taxpayer posts with solutions.

According to a recent PTI news report, the CBDT chairman said, "We are engaging closely with our service providers Infosys, IBM and Hitachi, who are on the job. The volumes are high and the compliance is also good... I have been assured that the website will function properly".

When Income tax portal is having so many glitches why you expect people to file return . Go get your system error free and then ask to file. I am a tax-payer unable to file my return because portal wrongly shows a validation when there is none. Greivance (17692543) filed on 24th. No resolution yet while deadline is approaching.
