4,000 'Smart Woman Plan' policies sold: HDFC

Private Insurance firm HDFC Life today said it had sold over 4,000 policies of its recently launched 'Smart Woman Plan'.

CHENNAI: Private Insurance firm HDFC Life today said it had sold over 4,000 policies of its recently launched ' Smart Woman Plan'.

"We have sold around 4,000 policies since the launch (in June, 2012) and I should say this is very very good response," Sanjay Tiwari, vice president, Strategy and Product, said.

Speaking to reporters here, he said HDFC Life Smart Woman Plan, a unit linked insurance policy (ULIP), is designed to cover specialised risks concerning women, including pregnancy complications and cancer.

The average premium per policy was around Rs 30,000, he added.

The private insurance player had launched the unit-linked plan last month targeting working women in urban areas.
