Gold prices across leading jewellery brands dipped today (Monday, September 28, 2026) as Joyalukkas, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Kalyan Jewellers and Tanishq updated their respective daily prices. Indicative gold and silver jewellery prices from the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) are yet to be updated for the day.

Gold outlook

Vedika Narvekar, Research Analyst- Commodities & Currencies, Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers says, "After falling nearly 2.2% last week, gold opened with a gap down today and is now off about 2%, trading around $4,200 an ounce in spot and Rs1,48,200 on the MCX. The Strait of Hormuz standoff isn't getting resolved, with Iran refusing to soften its terms and Washington rejecting its proposal. That keeps oil prices high and inflation worries alive. The Fed has already raised rates once this month, and investors see roughly a 65% chance of another hike in October. Bond yields keep climbing with 10-year yield now at 5.20 and that's a tough backdrop for it."

Prithviraj Kothari, Managing Director at RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd., President of IBJA says "Gold and silver had a punishing week, with spot gold down about 2% and spot silver down nearly 3%. The pressure came from rates, not fading safe-haven appeal: a firmer dollar, 10-year Treasury yields near 5.50% and a hot flash PMI have raised bets on another Fed hike in October. Oil swings tied to the US-Iran standoff over Hormuz have added to inflation worries rather than supporting bullion. Central bank buying may cushion further losses. With key support levels broken, traders now look to US inflation and jobs data, Fed commentary and the Iran talks. Spot gold has broken its important support at $4,250, with the next downside targets at $4,150 and $4,100. Spot silver has broken its important support at $62.5, with the next targets at $60 and $57."
