Indicative prices of gold and silver jewellery on the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) fell today (Thursday, October 8, 2026) compared to Wednesday evening prices. However, 22k gold prices remained the same across leading jewellery brands such as Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Joyalukkas, Kalyan Jewellers and Tanishq.

Gold outlook

Vedika Narvekar, Research Analyst- Commodities & Currencies, Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers says, "Gold is steady today trading around $4,125 an ounce after touching a nine-week low yesterday. Tensions in the Middle East flared up again, with a tanker hit off the coast of Qatar and reports that the White House is weighing strikes on Iran. ETF demand continue to remain strong. For now, gold is likely to trade with a downward bias, as higher oil prices, a strong dollar and Fed hike bets keep pressure on prices. At the same time, the long-term structural demand story remains intact, which should provide a floorRs around $4,000 level in the spot and Rs 1,44,800 on the MCX."
