Gold price in Chennai today (April 21, 2026): 24K, 22K gold rates at GRT Jewellers, VBJ, Jeyachandran Gold House, IBJA

Retail gold prices largely remained unchanged on Tuesday (April 21, 2026) after a mixed trend a day before. In Chennai too, the yellow metal today is retailing at almost the same rates as yesterday, with only a few jewellery retailers showing minor price variations.

As per the AM retail prices across India, updated by the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd (IBJA) on Tuesday, fine gold (999 purity) is priced at Rs 15,216 per gram, 22 carat gold at Rs 14,850 per gram, 20 carat gold at Rs 13,542 per gram, 18 carat gold at Rs 12,325 per gram and 14 carat at Rs 9,814 per gram.

Leading jewellery retailers across the city quoted nearly identical rates for 24k, 22k, and 18k gold. As per the latest trends, the price of 24 karat gold was over Rs 15,500 per gram while 22 karat gold was largely priced between Rs 14,230 to Rs 14,300 per gram. Here’s a look at the latest 24K, 22K, 18K, and 14K rates at leading jewellery retailers in Chennai:

Other than these, the price of 22 karat gold at Lalitha Jewellery is Rs 14,235 per gram, while 22 carat gold is retailing at Rs 14,300 per gram at Swarna Maligai Jewellers, and 18 carat gold at Rs 11,320 per gram.

Meanwhile, leading jewellery retailer Tanishq's latest price for 22k gold jewellery also stayed the same at Rs 14,275 per gram today in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bengaluru. 24 carat gold at the Tata-group owned jewellery retailer is priced at Rs 15,573 per gram, same as the price was on Monday.

Kalyan Jewellers' latest price for 22k gold jewellery also stayed the same at Rs 14,235 per gram in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bengaluru.

Malabar Gold & Diamonds' latest price for 22k gold jewellery on Tuesday is Rs 14,235 per gram. Joyalukkas also quoted a similar 22k gold price of Rs 14,235 per gram while 24k gold rate is priced at Rs 15,529 per gram and 18k gold at the jeweller is retailing for Rs 11,647 per gram.
