Chennai gold rates today (April 10, 2026): Latest 24K, 22K prices at GRT Jewellers, VBJ, Kota Gold Jewellery, IBJA

Gold is often considered a safe haven asset, especially during uncertain times. For many, the precious metal remains one of the best investment tools as it gives a hedge against inflation while holding its worth. This is why many investors are now seeing as a wealth creation tool, marking a shift towards digital gold over the physical asset.

Gold prices on Friday (April 10, 2026) showed a marginal rise from Thursday’s rates (April 9, 2026), in Tamil Nadu’s capital Chennai. As per the prices quoted by leading jewellery retailers in the city, the price of 24 karat gold was around Rs 15,300 per gram, while 22 karat gold was largely priced between Rs 13,880 to Rs 14,125 per gram.

As per the indicative AM retail selling rates shared by India Bullion & Jewellers Association (IBJA), fine gold (999 purity) is priced at Rs 15,031 per gram, 22 carat gold at Rs 14,670 per gram, 20 carat gold at Rs 13,377 per gram, 18 carat gold at Rs 12,175 per gram and 14 carat at Rs 9,695 per gram.

Meanwhile, gold rates on major jewellery retailers like Tanishq, Kalyan Jewellers, Joyalukkas rose around 1% on Friday, as compared to the rates on Thursday (April 9, 2026).

22 carat gold at Tanishq is retailing at Rs 14,065 per gram today, up 1.01% from Thursday’s selling price of Rs 13,925 per gram. On Kalyan Jewellers and Joyalukkas both, 22 carat gold is priced at Rs 14,025 per gram. Malabar Gold & Diamonds' latest price for 22 carat gold jewellery is Rs 13,965 per gram as of April 10, 2026.
