PORTFOLIO DOCTOR

Not many investors know whether they have invested in the right funds and if their fund portfolio is on track. The Portfolio Doctor assesses the health of the fund portfolio, examines the schemes and their suitability with regard to the goals and, if required, recommends corrective measures. The advice given is based on the performance of the funds, the risk profile of the investor as well as his financial goals.

PORTFOLIO CHECK-UP

Kinshuk Chaturvedi started early and has invested aggressively. So, he can reach his goals easily with small SIP hikes every year.
  • He holds a mix of small-, mid- and largecap funds, stocks, Post Office schemes and fixed deposits.
  • The portfolio has many overlaps and Chaturvedi does not monitor it regularly.
  • Underperforming funds need to be replaced. He also has too many funds and needs only 5-6 funds across different categories.
  • He should reduce exposure to small- and mid-cap funds and raise exposure to global funds.
  • In the NPS, he should take a balanced exposure to equity and debt funds.
