Nine of 18 officials now project at least one hike before year-end; markets price a 90% probability. Geopolitically, a US–Iran ceasefire briefly eased gold's war premium before Geneva talks collapsed and Iran reclosed the Strait of Hormuz. PBoC purchases hit eight tonnes in April, providing a price floor. COMEX support sits at $4,100–$4,050; silver holds $63. The May PCE print on June 25 is the decisive near-term trigger."
