According to the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2026, India's wealth has soared to an impressive Rs. 187.5 lakh crore, with Gautam Adani now eclipsing Mukesh Ambani in the wealth hierarchy. LN Mittal also reports major financial gains.

With a combined wealth of Rs.187.5 lakh crore, or $1.96 trillion, 1,810 business leaders—each worth Rs.1,000 crore or more—made the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2026. Gautam Adani edges past Mukesh Ambani, while LN Mittal takes the third spot with a 93% jump in his wealth.

Of the 1,810 listers, 156 are non-resident Indians (NRIs)— up from 101 a year ago.

Reflecting the pace at which the start-up ecosystem is generating value, entrepreneurs in their twenties have made their mark.

Buoyed by the initial public offerings (IPOs) of their companies, a fresh cohort of promoters have made a windfall from listing gains.
