WWE NXT tonight: Two championship matches confirmed as Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic enters first round

WWE NXT takes place tonight, September 29, with two championship matches confirmed for the show. NXT begins at 8:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. CT on The CW. Two championships will be defended during tonight's episode.

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will also continue with two first-round matches.

Grayson Waller Defends NXT Championship

Grayson Waller puts the NXT Championship on the line against Mason Rook tonight.


Waller will defend his title in one of the two championship matches scheduled for the show.

Mason Rook earned the opportunity to challenge for the NXT Championship after winning a Triple Threat No. 1 Contender's Match against Tony D'Angelo and Saquon Shugars on September 15. WWE confirmed the result on its official website.

The NXT Women's North American Championship will also be defended tonight. Zaria faces Thea Hail for the title. The match is the second championship bout on the September 29 NXT card.

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic continues with two first-round matches tonight.

Nathan Frazer and Axiom face Osiris Griffin and Cutler James. The second first-round match sees Channing Lorenzo and Uriah Connors take on Mini Vikingo and Chaz “Starboy” Hall.

Both matches are part of the opening round of the tournament.
