After several years away, Yuya Aoki is set to make his long-awaited return to All Japan Pro Wrestling after nearly eight years. His first appearance since October 2017 has sparked excitement among fans, as he brings valuable experience, proven credibility, and a distinctive fighting style back to the promotion. All Japan Pro Wrestling has officially announced the return of Yuya Aoki on its website, reported Monthly Puroresu. Aoki is set to make his comeback on April 23 at the Champion Carnival 2026, which will take place at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo.
In his return match, Aoki will compete in an eight-man tag team bout. He will team up with Shotaro Ashino, Kuma Arashi, and MUSASHI. The team will face Yuma Aoyagi, Atsuki Aoyagi, Rising HAYATO, and Ryo Inoue in what promises to be an exciting matchup.
According to Monthly Puroresu, Aoki is also scheduled for a second appearance with All Japan Pro Wrestling on May 5, where he will compete in a 10-man tag team match during the Champion Carnival 2026 at Korakuen Hall.
Aoki brings an impressive résumé into his return. During his decade-long run with Big Japan Pro Wrestling, he set the record for the longest reign as BJW World Strong Heavyweight Champion, holding the title for 529 days, reported the media outlet. He parted ways with the promotion in late February 2026 after 10 years, choosing to continue his career as a freelancer.
His history with AJPW dates back several years. Aoki’s last appearance for the promotion came on October 2, 2017, when he secured a victory over Yusuke Okada at the AJPW Raising An Army Memorial Series 2017. Now, after nearly eight years, he returns with renewed momentum and experience.
