Teenage boxer Isis Sio has regained consciousness after being placed in a coma following a frightening knockout loss to Jocelyn Camarillo on Saturday. The 19-year-old was seriously injured during their bout, which quickly turned intense inside the ring. With just over a minute left in the opening round, Camarillo landed a powerful punch that knocked Sio unconscious. The fight took place at the National Orange Show Event Center in San Bernardino, where the severity of the situation became clear immediately.

Medical staff rushed to assist Sio, who was seen convulsing as she was placed on a stretcher and taken out of the arena. She was then transported to Loma Linda University Health for urgent care, where doctors placed her in a coma for further evaluation and treatment. Her recovery has brought relief, but the incident has raised fresh concerns about fighter safety in boxing, especially for young athletes early in their careers.

According to The Sun, her family has now shared a positive update on her condition, confirming that the junior flyweight boxer has regained consciousness and has been taken off the ventilator.

"At this time, Isis remains in ICU, but she is off the ventilator and we are hopeful for her progression. We are awaiting further updates from her medical team," a statement from the family read as quoted by The Sun.

"She is currently under the care of three specialized medical divisions who are closely monitoring her condition.
