IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., is one of the world's most popular online streamers, known for his sensational live broadcasts, and millions of followers across YouTube and other social media platforms. The 21-year-old American influencer has become a familiar face, often traveling around the world to cover major events. He made headlines again during the FIFA World Cup 2026 after being subjected to racist abuse while livestreaming Argentina's Round of 32 match against Cabo Verde. During the broadcast, an individual allegedly shouted, "Go cry at the zoo," a remark widely condemned as racist. The incident quickly went viral, prompting widespread outrage from fans and anti-racism advocates. FIFA has since launched an investigation into the alleged abuse as part of its zero-tolerance policy on discrimination.

The incident occurred on July 3 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, where IShowSpeed was livestreaming Argentina's World Cup clash while wearing a Cabo Verde jersey. During the broadcast, the popular American streamer was allegedly subjected to racist remarks from a spectator. Video from IShowSpeed's livestream shows the influencer turning toward a female spectator wearing an Argentina jersey who leaned over the barrier to speak to him. Seemingly unsure of what had been said, the American streamer asked viewers to clarify the comment during the live broadcast.

According to reports, the fan replied in Spanish with the phrase, "Go cry at the zoo," a statement that has been widely condemned as a racist insult. The clip quickly spread across social media, fueling outrage among fans and prompting FIFA to investigate the incident.

Football's world governing body acknowledged the incident and strongly condemned the spectator's alleged discriminatory behavior.

"FIFA strongly condemns racism, hate and discrimination in all forms. These actions have no place in football, at the FIFA World Cup, or anywhere in society.
